Friston House care home, in Rochester, was full of animal mischief on Friday when the mobile zoo came to visit the home.

Residents at Friston House were pleasantly surprised to see the beloved animals such as Guinea Pigs, Snakes, and Tortoises in their own Lounge, River Rodents has become a common visitor at the home and that comes as no surprise to the staff who know how much the residents love seeing the animals.

Activity Co-Ordinators Bridie and Kim Said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their visitors today. We knew that having the animals here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Resident Betty Smith was very excited and touched by the River Rodents animals: “I used to work at Maidstone Zoo and seeing the animals reminded me of my time there.”
