Greetings from Love Medway!
​
It’s been a year of change round here. We started off back in 2019 as It’s The Biz, and then at the beginning of last year we rebranded to Love Medway. This decision was made so that our name better reflects our mission – to celebrate everything great about the Medway Towns. The original idea was to convey this via a free monthly magazine, but it proved increasingly expensive to produce and distribute, and then we were struck with family issues that resulted in temporary relocation last year. Love Medway ceased publication and the whole project went on hold.

When home life got back to normal this summer, we made this website live again, and began to think about how we could bring the content of the magazine online and beyond. We hit upon the idea of a radio station which is now up and running online on this site. It’s also available on My Tuner and Radio UK both of which have apps. We’re working on our own Love Medway app and looking into smart speaker integration.

Our mission for the station is to bring back proper local radio to the Medway Towns. A station that reflects the local community and the vibrant arts and entertainment scene. Bringing local news and information, traffic updates and a genuine local voice to the listener. It’s an ambitious goal and we’re taking it one step at a time. We’re live on air for three hours a day at the moment. The rest of the time DJBot6000 handles the on air duties. He only needs the odd squirt of WD40.

But we need volunteers to keep growing. Although we’re reached nearly 1,000 listeners in our first month on air, at this stage it’s a self-funded project which we have hopes can transform from hobby to business. For that reason we’re reaching out to those with a love of music, Medway and radio to donate some time to the station and bring new voices and perspectives to the listener.

We’ve also just completed a photographic competition which sought 12 fabulous photos of Medway for our 2024 calendar (available to pre-order now!)
​
We have lots more up our sleeves including the Love Medway Network plus other top secret plans as well as the content on this site which includes community news and what’s on listings.
